One time while watching Game of Thrones, I saw this chick with the best/messiest hair braid. Since then, I made my even messier version of her braid my go-to for weekend hair. When your hair is as long and heavy as mine, buns and ponytails don't really work for extended periods of time—also they get in the way of resting my head against things! This 30-second braid allows for all the head-resting and only looks better and better as the day goes on and more pieces fall out.
This sunny Saturday was spent scoring some deals on my favourite candles (check my instagram), a long walk through the parks with my ultimate adventurer buddy (Molly the dog), and a dinner of chicken and waffles(?!) while discovering that whiskey and cinnamon is a really good combination.

Belt, Bag, & Shoes: Thrifted
Necklace: Freedom Found collection at Topshop
If you know me or have been following along for a bit, you might notice that this is a lot of jewellery for me! I tend to avoid anything that can get in the way of working at a computer or drawing on paper (like bracelets or long hanging necklaces). However, I finished all my freelancing work for the day in the morning and knew that I was going to be spending the rest of my Saturday AWAY from the computer—so I figured I could give this Topshop necklace (that has long been functioning as wall decor) a wear.
When I spotted this lace top at the thrift store it reminded me of a homemade angel costume from my childhood. Delicate, whimsical, and hand-sewn were enough to sell me on this find.
With temperatures in the mid twenties this weekend, I guess I don't have to completely say goodbye to summer weather and dressing quite yet—fine by me!
PS: If there are any other long-haired ladies out there I would love to hear what you do for your casual hair days!
