Sun Rays & Mountainlust

If you read my buying less series, I talked about only buying when you can check all the boxes (style, fit price) and I added a new box of  of only giving your money to businesses that deserve your stamp of approval for their products and their ethics. Now, I don't always get it right—sometimes I buy things solely because they were on super sale, sometimes I sacrifice ethics for style. But this outfit is one of the times I got it right—and that just makes for a day of feeling great wearing it.

I can feel great because my clothes are all beautiful pieces that embody my style (I feel like me), I bought them at affordable prices for my life, and they are all secondhand.

The exception to the secondhand of course is my necklace. I was super excited to receive it and a few other jewels from Taryn of MountainLust Jewelry, because they are not only beautiful but every piece is handmade by Taryn at her home in the mountains. The bloom series (like the purple pendant necklace below) is all made from flowers hand picked on hikes by her daughters—awww!

Why is this outfit so me? We all know I love oversized relaxed silhouettes and neutrals (you may have noticed from virtually every other outfit post) but I also love the soft silk of the pants and knit of the shirt. You know the kind of clothes that just feel like a lush hug? That's this outfit and that's my thing.

I definitely recommend checking out Taryn's store for lots of handmade goodness (and her prices are very affordable!)

In other news, the day I shot these photos was the first warm and sunny day in February (and also the very last day of February). I feel like I put so much of my life on hold for warmer weather (not many wanderings took place in February.) Looking forward to spring and getting back to spending time outdoors! I'm also thinking it's about time to revisit my intentions and see how I've been doing.

Wishing you all a great weekend! And if you've read my many words up until this point, I'd love to hear about something you've bought that has made you feel great.
