What step of the process is denial? That's where this long winter has pushed me to. I wore sneakers 3 times this week (and there is still THAT much snow on the ground). I also wore one of my thinnest wool coats on a day when it was -20. So ya, I'm in denial of winter's persistent existence.
Of course, I'm still divided on winter coming to an end. I found a love of snowshoeing this year and I'm loving the way snowy backdrops unify all my photos (struggles of the visually-obsessed.) Anyways, here's a weekend outfit that I wore pretty much indoors, except for walking Jon to his truck and saying our weekend end's goodbyes.
— What I wore —
This outfit is a lot of dark for me. But it's also a lot of cozy that passes as real-people-clothes—my kind of weekend wear! Full disclosure: I also wore it to the studio...
Does anyone else find it hard to wear joggers in the winter? Or more specifically, in the snow? I just prefer them paired with non snow-friendly shoes (flats, sandals, sneakers, heels, things that aren't boots...) I found this chunky heeled bootie to be the compromise. Although not my favourite jogger pairing, these are snow-friendly enough (rubber-soled and keeps my ankles far up enough from the ground) for winter jogger wear.
My handsome man in the jacket I got him for christmas. (The one that was too small so we had to track down a bigger size on the internet and then cross the border to get it)
Today brings us to the end of another weekend (*sad face*). But I'm intending to make this week a great one:
- I know I'm going to be super busy in the studio, so I've prepared my posts in advance (for once)—yay!
- And since I'm going to be spending some long days in the studio, I'm going to pull myself away for some midday walks outside!
- If you follow me on twitter, you may have seen me drool in 140 characters over this amazing article on shopping for a spring wardrobe the minimalist + intentional way. So I'm going to be spending a few hours this week working through her steps!
Writing that just now made me feel so excited to start my week! What that probably means is I'm just easily excited—but what I'm going to take it to mean is that you should try it too!
If you're not already in the habit of it, I encourage you to make some weekly goals or intentions for the upcoming week—share them with me in the comments below or just make them for yourself. Happy Sunday!
