Style Editorial: Light + Shadows

There's a good old quote along the lines of "you first need darkness before you can see the light"—or you know, something like that. It was the drama between the light and shadows in these photos that first had me thinking about that quote, but then my brain took a few turns, and I began to wonder how many situations this metaphor can apply to.

Do we need to live in the darkness before we can see the light—do we need to have it bad before we can appreciate having it good? I'd like to think not, but then I remember, how it's after a long winter that 10°C feels like a gift. And it's after wearing shoes all day that bare feet feel so good.

This fees like such a plain outfit to showcase in such dramatic photos. But on this blog, I show the plain outfits, because that's real life, but maybe also because it helps us to appreciate the spotlight-outfits.

Oh how I've missed these green trees. Today I'll leave you with that question on my mind: do we need to experience the bad to appreciate the good?
