Rolled up Jeans
As you've probably caught on, I'm trying to practice minimalism and intentionalism in my wardrobe. I am currently in the middle of the biggest closet purge I've ever done. I'm living in a state of disarray where everything is in piles and overflowing boxes on my floor and my type A personality is going crazy. It's taking me weeks to do this, with only dedicating about an hour at a time to it—but, I am going to feel so good when this is done (given I do actually get rid of all the things I should.) This weekend's happy side affect; rediscovering my new-old favourite pair of jeans.
— What I wore —
If you know me well, you know I've spent the last decade avoiding any real pants—you know, the stiff kind with zippers and buttons that you can't sit crossed legged or do the splits in (which should be irrelevant considering I also haven't done the splits in the last decade.) So, my jean collection has always been pretty small, consisting of only the softest jegging-like denim. And these J Brands circa 2008 are just that—the softest of denim. They were once skinny jeans until they stretched out a crazy amount and now they are the perfect relaxed fit—a denim trend I am totally loving. And since I never got them hemmed (they're about a foot too long on me) they're perfect for partaking in my other favourite denim trend; the rolled hem.
Something else that's having a renaissance in my closet right now; low-heeled suede pumps. I've always been pretty anti-heels (a shoe I can't walk through the grass in; no thank you) but I am shocked(!!) to say that I'm pretty obsessed with the heels and jean combo at the moment—as long as I keep the heel low enough I can still wander off the beaten path sans ankle injury.
Stay tuned for more new-old favourites as I continue to venture into the depths of my closet. Happy Monday!
